CHELMSFORD, MA – A 75-year-old man, a 75-year-old woman, and one driver were sent to the hospital after a head-on collision on Route 495 before 10 a.m. Wednesday. Massachusetts State Police said, for reasons unclear, a driver went from the southbound lanes into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with another vehicle. The 75-year-old man from Avery was airlifted to a hospital. The passenger with him — the 75-year-old woman also of Avery — was transported to a hospital, as was the other driver. The conditions of these individuals have not been disclosed. It is not immediately clear what led to this head-on collision.
