Narrative
WESTWOOD, MA – WCVB News reports that an 82-year-old female pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver in Westwood on Thursday.
Authorities say the accident took place shortly before 10:00 a.m. on University Avenue, near a Westwood shopping plaza. 82-year-old Alice Wedge was struck by a driver of a Nissan while crossing University from the shopping center, and two nurses who happened to be nearby attempted life-saving measures at the scene. Wedge was then rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, where she was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
