SOMERVILLE, MA – An elderly bicyclist died after he collided with the door of a Land Rover in Somerville on Friday morning, according to information from MassLive.
The crash happened on Broadway near Lou Ann David Park and south of Tufts University at about 11:20 a.m. 70-year-old Somerville resident Stephen Conley was riding his bicycle in the bicycle lane when a person operating a Land Rover opened their door. Conley then crashed into the parked vehicle.
Conley was taken to the hospital with severe injuries, and on Saturday, he succumbed to those and was pronounced dead.
The driver, who remained at the scene, has cooperated with the investigation. No charges have yet been filed.
Authorities continue to investigate at this time.
