CHICOPEE, MA – A man from Texas is facing multiple charges following a car accident in Chicopee that left two people dead on Friday morning, according to NBC Boston.
The crash happened near Grattan Street and Montgomery Street at about 11:30 a.m., as a Chevrolet Impala leaving a gas station was struck by a Dodge Ram.
The driver of the Impala, 55-year-old Springfield resident Fermin Martinez, died at the scene.
A second occupant of the Impala, 75-year-old Luz Martinez, also from Springfield, died on the way to the hospital.
The other driver, 24-year-old Demian Ward, of Fort Worth, Tex., is facing two charges of vehicular homicide and one charge of reckless operation of a motor vehicle.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
