3 injured after Uber driver crashes into bank in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, MA – Three people were hospitalized after an Uber driver crashed into a bank in Cambridge late Saturday night, according to NBC Boston.

The collision happened at around 11:11 p.m. at a Citizens Bank located at 822 Somerville Avenue near White Street, as an Uber driver operating a Toyota Highlander SUV accelerated while making a turn. The vehicle then crashed into the building.

The driver, identified only as a 66-year-old man, and his two passengers were taken ot the hospital to receive treatment for minor injuries.

Authorities do not believe that the driver was distracted or under the influence when the crash happened. Their investigation continues at this time.
