NH man dead after tree falls onto pickup truck in Lenox

LENOX, MA (BERKSHIRE COUNTY) – A man from New Hampshire died after a thunderstorm caused a tree to fall onto his vehicle in Lenox on Tuesday evening, according to information from News 10.

The incident occurred on Route 7 near Plunkett Street and Kemble at around 5:20 p.m., when winds of around 70 miles per hour caused a tree to fall onto an F-150 pickup truck.

The pickup’s driver, 56-year-old Darrin Cawthron, of Derry, New Hampshire, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No witnesses were present when the collision happened. No other victims or vehicles were involved in the accident.

Authorities continue to investigate the accident at this time.
