EASTHAMPTON, MA – Two pedestrians died after being hit by a driver on Route 10 in Easthampton on Tuesday evening, according to information from NBC Boston.
The collision happened on Rt. 10 (Northampton Road) south of Highland Avenue and Florence Road at about 7:30 p.m., when two pedestrians standing near the Burger King were struck by a driver.
One of the victims, an 81-year-old man from Easthampton, died at the scene.
The other pedestrian, a 60-year-old woman also from Easthampton, was taken to the hospital, where she later was pronounced dead.
The driver, a man from Hadley, remained at the scene. He has cooperated with the ongoing investigation.
